We teach languages spoken in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and in the diaspora, through live video classes.
The Language Center of Congo was born out of necessity. Its founders, the Nguzas, originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, were born and raised in Europe and the United States. Although fluent in their languages of adoption -French, English, Spanish and Portuguese- the siblings realized they could not state the same about their communication skills in Lingala, Kikongo, Swahili or Tshiluba -i.e., the national languages of their country of origin. This is, unfortunately, the case for thousands of children of Congolese immigrants -now adults- who are members of the African diaspora in the Americas and Europe. A limited or inexistent knowledge of these languages translate in a limited experience when visiting the country of our forefathers, learning about the rich culture of Congo, or just participating in community events.
This yearning to connect with our roots, led to the birth of the Language Center of Congo: a place where any person wishing to learn any of the languages spoken in the Democratic Republic of Congo, can do so without any judgment, and at their leisure. Being an online school allows us to offer live remote lessons from anywhere in the world.
